“I didn’t know what I was doing with my life, and I didn’t like who I had become.”
Pete’s Story
Pete K. Wong grew up in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota USA. At a young age he had a creativity that sparked story and character creation, this led to pursuing a career in film/tv/theatre, while at the same time working as a youth educator in the city.
In his early 20’s Pete’s mental health would suffer when he was confronted with the death by suicide of his best friend and the memory and realization of his grandmothers.
With support, Pete was able to overcome his depression and found himself overseas in Hong Kong SAR, working as an English Drama teacher and a film producer’s assistant. At the same time, he had roles in front and behind the camera and stage.
Returning to the United States, Pete moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his passions even further and for a change in scenery, but instead, grew unsure of his future and at times felt more alone.
As the saying goes, “When the student is ready the teacher appears.” It was then when he met his mentor and best friend Guru Orpheus Black, and it was through his training in mixed martial arts/boxing and vulnerable conversations that both challenged and inspired Pete, he learned the value and the importance of taking better care of his health, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Soon Pete began to shape his life as he always wanted to but never knew that he could. He surrounded himself with other leaders and improved on himself day in and day out. Researching and studying other thought leaders that inspired and motivated him as well.
His road to self-healing had begun and ultimately would pave the path to self-mastery.
With this newly founded perspective like one of his favorite films The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Pete set out to share what he had learned, but as only as he could.
“I felt so sad, and I couldn’t figure out why.”
“I had to learn how to embrace failure in order to discover what it meant to succeed.”
“I had to learn the importance of prioritizing loving myself and create my lifestyle around this.”
Using 3 areas of focus: real conversations, mind and body movements, and play, Pete creates safe spaces to help others find calmness in their chaos.
His goal is to give the tools and provide perspectives through his own experiences that will help others find more joy, live more authentically, and develop the confidence to be the champions in their own lives!
After years of trial and error, providing free workshops to the community, mostly to friends and family. Pete could see a vision for himself but wasn’t sure how to see it to fruition.
In 2020, in the midst of pandemic epidemic. He was kicked out of his place of residence in Los Angeles and made the move to return to where he grew up. Using virtual and some in person platforms he was able to continue providing support for others, having healthy conversations around mental health.
It wasn’t until 2022, when he became a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and a graduate of the Speaker’s Academy program did he begin to go into business for himself!
Since then, he has been enjoying building his business, sharing his expertise across the country, and absolutely loves being able to travel and meet people doing something he not only loves but deeply cares about.
Currently he resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota with his partner Emily aka “Cutie” and their two fur babies, Jasper aka “Floof Daggers” and Lilith “The Destroyer”.
